About

Valerie Ifill, originally from Northeastern Ohio, graduated with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University in 2003 where she studied business administration and dance. She has worked in the arts administration field for over five years completing two internships as assistant company manager at Porthouse Theatre. Valerie moved to New York City in 2003 to pursue both business and dance. After continuing her dance studies at The Ailey School in New York, Valerie returned to Ohio to teach, and to choreograph. Her works have been performed at Kent State University, Youngstown State University, and the University of Oregon as well as community performance venues. Valerie’s deep interests in dance education, performance, choreography and arts administration led her to the MFA teaching fellowship program at the University of Oregon where she taught modern, jazz, African, improvisation, ballroom and hip hop dance.  She was most recently honored as the 2008-2009 Georgianne Teller Singer recipient. Valerie recently graduated from the University of Oregon with her Master of Fine Arts Degree in dance.

Valerie recently moved to Philadelphia where she looks forward to being an active part of this new dance community.
